I am IMDT qualified and specialise in supporting adolescent dogs, reactive dogs, and rescue dogs, using positive, evidence-based methods to create lasting behaviour change without intimidation or harsh handling. I also offer mantrailing (scentwork), a hugely rewarding activity that builds confidence, focus and teamwork for both dogs and owners.

Based in Hampshire and Wiltshire, Develop Your Dog provides force-free gundog training following the Gundog Trainers Academy Code of Conduct. Lead trainer Jill Thorpe uses positive, games-based methods to build trust and cooperation while harnessing a dog's natural instincts. Small group classes and one-to-one sessions cater to both family pets and dogs preparing for shoot days or trials. Training covers essential skills like recall, steadiness, and whistle work in stimulating locations. These sessions provide the mental and physical stimulation gundogs crave, turning training time into quality time for owners and their dogs.

Led by Jan Debnam, an APDT-vetted instructor with over 40 years of experience, Dogkind Training School offers specialized Heelwork to Music and Canine Freestyle classes in the Totton and New Forest areas. These motivational sessions cater to all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced competitors, focusing on building a deep bond through trick training and rhythmic movement. Member of the force free dog training initiative and force free accredited (level 3 and level 4) dog behaviourist and trainer. I am also accredited in delivering emergency first aid canine care. One-to-one in person sessions are preferable although I do consider remote sessions. I specialise in working with rescue dogs who have a wide array of behavioural problems from barrier reactivity to separation anxiety but offer other services such as puppy fear period training and improving manners whilst on lead.
